                                                    Calabash - Fishing Boats

Calabash, North Carolina borders South Carolina and is known throughout the country for seafood and the style of cooking.  Calabash has remained a true fishing town, where the majority of boats are working boats that leave early in the morning and return in the evening with their "catch".   Fresh fish and shrimp are sold at local markets, served at local restaurants, and transported to various places nationwide.

You will see the word "Calabash"  even in the Myrtle Beach area since some restaurants prepare their seafood in the "Calabash" style.

There is no beach in Calabash but there are beaches only minutes away.  Also North Myrtle Beach is approximately a 10 minute drive and Myrtle Beach approximately a 40 minute drive.
