City of Conway
On The Waccamaw River
Conway, originally named Kingston, was created in 1734 as a Township. The historic charm remains in the revitalized business district where there are row-type shops, restaurants, cafés, and historic landmarks among the tree-lined streets.
Each year there is an event, usually held on the last Saturday in June, called 'Round The Fourth. You can call (843) 248-2273 for information. Boat rides, and a boat parade, train rides, games, a business expo, arts & crafts fair, food, fun, and a firework display all while enjoying the tranquil Waccamaw River.
Located west of Myrtle Beach, Hwy. 501 will take you to the historic area which begins on the west banks of the Waccamaw River where you can park your car and stroll the boardwalk.
