According to the official Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors (CCAR), Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in the Detached (Existing Site/Stick Built); Modular; New Construction (Site/Stick Built) category on February 10, 2010 there were 4,965 single family homes for sale in the Myrtle Beach area compared to over 5,500 single family homes for sale in the Summer 2008 and 5,099 for sale in the Fall 2009. From January 1, 2009 through September 20, 2009 - 2,099 single family homes sold and closed.The majority of those homes contained at least 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. A increase in sales during the last three months of 2009 was helped by the First-time Homebuyer Tax Credit but it did not contribute to all sales. The continuation of the First-time Homebuyer Tax Credit and the Tax Credit for present homeowners who sell and purchase a new principal residence during the first half of 2010 should help those ready to buy their first home or retire to the Myrtle Beach area.
According to CCAR, MLS in Manufactured Homes with Land / Manufactured Homes on Leased Land for sale, which is under the Homes for Sale category there were 339 homes for sale compared to over 390 Manufactured with land or on leased land homes for sale in the Myrtle Beach area during the Summer 2008 and 380 for sale in the Fall 2009. From January 1, 2009 through September 20, 2009 - 201 manufactured homes sold and closed and were either with land or on leased land.
