Brunswick Isles Beach Real Estate
If you want to purchase real estate now and become a resident years in the future, many of my clients choose the Brunswick Isles beach area of North Carolina because of the lower non-resident real estate property taxes, highly ranked golf courses and proximity to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
I am a Broker-In-Charge (BIC) in North Carolina and a member of the Brunswick County Association of Realtors (BCAR) Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Currently only a few listings of real estate for sale in North Carolina appear in the MLS Search features but plans are underway to include the BCAR MLS listings on this website.
The Brunswick Isles is an area in southeastern North Carolina along the coast in Brunswick County in The North Strand. If you have ever heard the term "The Grand Strand" which is a sixty mile stretch of coastal area that includes Myrtle Beach, South Carolina as its hub, you may have heard of "The North Strand" which is the northern section of "The Grand Strand" (confusing I know, but that is how many locals refer to the area).
When you look at a map The Brunswick Isles begin south of Wilmington, North Carolina around Holden Beach and go south to Sunset Beach located just above the State line with South Carolina. Unless the map provides a close-up view you will not be aware that the towns of Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach and Sunset Beach have a mainland and an island designation. The ocean and beaches are on the east side of the island and the islands are separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal Waterway with a single bridge going from each mainland area to their island.
I was once asked me to find an oceanfront 3 bedroom 2 bath condo on Ocean Isle Beach. They had never been to the area but told me they had a friend who had just bought one and only paid one hundred fifty thousand dollars. This occurred just as the real estate bubble was beginning to burst but prices were still inflated. I searched and could only find condos priced thousands of dollars higher. I sent the listings for what I had found and received a phone call from that potential buyer who was so furious with me she yelled and hung-up. I never got the chance to ask her if her friend's condo was on the mainland but after hours of searching I knew that is where it had to be located.
There is no beach along the coast of Calabash, North Carolina or Little River, South Carolina (great boating and fishing but no beach area) because the Intracoastal Waterway and Little River join the ocean in those areas.
